CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

The parish began a Capital Campaign in 2011 to raise $3.5 Million Dollars for our proposed Educational Center to provide classrooms/meeting rooms, offices, and Great Hall that will complete the Master Plan and provide the space we need just to do basic ministry. More than 200 families and friends have already contributed or pledged over $1 Million Dollars towards our goal. It is possible to make a one-time gift or a pledge that spans a three year period. There are many possibilities for the "Naming" of various parts of the building program. Please contact Mr. Ron France, Chair, of the Building Committee for details as to how you can participate and help make God's dream for St. Ignatius of Antioch a reality.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE REMAINING BALANCE OF MY PARKING LOT PLEDGE?
The outstanding balance on the parking lot is approximately $560,000. The payoff amount is part of the $3.5M budget for the new Educational Center. When funding is approved for the new building, the outstanding balance it will be incorporated into the new loan and the old pledges will be eliminated. We need to keep paying on the parking lot until the new building pledges meet $3.5M and we have $1.75M in secured funding.

I AM WILLING TO PLEDGE TOWARDS THE NEW EDUCATIONAL CENTER BUT WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PLEDGE IF THE PARISH CHOOSES NOT TO PURSUE THE NEW ADDITION?
Although we are extremely confident that we will raise the funding for the new educational center, if we choose to abandon the fund raising campaign, all of the money will be returned. We will not use the money on any other project

WHAT IS THE TIME LINE FOR THE NEW EDUCATIONAL CENTER?
Once total pledges have been made and we have secured $1.75M in funds we can then proceed with the project. We estimate 2 months to finalize the bid documents, one month to bid the project, 6 months to construct the facility, and one month to equip and move into the building. Approximately 10 months from secured funding to move in.

WHY ARE WE PURSUING A MAJOR PROJECT IN THESE TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES?
Although times are tough, the bid environment for our new building has never been better. The current budget is estimated to be almost half of two years ago

WHEN WE SUCCESSFULLY RECEIVE $3.5M IN PLEDGES, CAN WE PROCEED WITH THE BUILDING PROCESS?
NO! We not only need to meet the $3.5M in pledges but we also must secure half of that amount in real money in the bank! ($1.75M)

WITH ALL OF THE RECENT SECURITY ISSUES ON THE CHURCH GROUNDS CAN WE USE SOME OF THE PLEDGE MONEY TOWARDS INSTALLING THE CORRECTIVE SECURITY MEASURES AT THIS TIME?
NO! All money dedicated to the new educational center will only be used towards the $3.5M budget. Funding is currently being secured to install new lighting on the street side of the church, to purchase and install fencing and electric gates on Contra Loma Boulevard, and to enhance the current security surveillance system of the church grounds. These expenses are all separate and not included in the budget for the new educational center.

HOW WILL THE PARISH PAY FOR UPKEEP OF THE NEW EDUCATIONAL CENTER?
It is expected that the great hall will be rented and that Parish programs will be expanded that will produce additional revenue for upkeep of the new buildings.
