Family to Family Partnership is an excellent way to build bridges between parishes and families in need, especially those who are struggling but highly motivated to change and transform their lives. Each F2F team is a caring resource that mentors a family for 12- 18 months, helps with material needs, and provides good advice in areas such as job searching, budgeting, and family concerns. SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DEPARTMENT (SPRED) The goal of SPRED is to enable persons with developmental disabilities to experience an ongoing education in faith, as well as a positive integration into the liturgical and community life of the Church. SPRED nurtures the faith life of persons with developmental disabilities and nurtures the faith of the volunteer catechists. Through preparation (focus on Montessori activities), Symbolic Catechesis (sharing personal life experience, praying and singing), and Agape (social interaction over food and beverage), catechists and friends grow in love and dignity. SPRED meets Monday evenings from October through April.

Weddings are celebrated with with great joy, preparation, and celebration at St. Ignatius of Antioch. Wedding liturgies normally take place on Saturdays or at any other time that is mutually agreeable to both the bridal couple and the parish schedule. The Diocese of Oakland requires six months lead time in order to adequately address the necessary documentation, spiritual, emotional, psychological, and liturgical preparation. The Order of Christian Funerals directs how funerals are celebrated in the parish. A Catholic Funeral includes the Vigil, Funeral Liturgy (celebrated with or without Holy Eucharist), and Committal. Cremation is an option and the cremated remains may be brought into the church, placed in the Ossuary, as the memory of the deceased is celebrated. Our ministry, which supports Corazon, embraces the ideals of Habitat for Humanity and addresses the needs of our brothers and sisters who live in Tijuana, Mexico. Every year we take a group of builders to Tijuana and do a 24 hour build for one family. We also take donated school supplies, jackets, sweaters, and blankets to pass out to the children and families. Our St. Joseph group holds a meeting every third Wednesday of the month. The Mary Project is a parish community outreach project. Every Mother's Day weekend our parishioners are invited to participate in a baby shower to support the efforts of Birthright of Brentwood. Parishioners are asked to bring new and gently used baby items to Mass. Our donations help mothers and babies in need and help sustain Birthright of Brentwood's efforts for almost a year. Member of the Pastoral Staff. Pastoral associates work closely with other staff members and ministry leaders to ensure the pastoral, liturgical, and social needs of the parish and beyond are met. Expected to perform in many or all ministries and preach occasionally.
